10 Minute Fitness: Strength and Flexibility Conditioning

We often focus on cardio and strength when we think of a “workout.” At least that’s how I thought of fitness for much of my 30’s. However, flexibility, especially as we age, is a significant part of our fitness regimen. After gymnastics, I would forget about stretching as part of my workout. For whatever reason, I didn’t feel it was as important if I wasn’t having to hit a 180 degree split for a routine, lol. However, when we step back and look at the importance of stretching with regard to injury prevention, recovery and general maintenance, we see how critical it is to our overall health. Oh, and stretching can make you feel great!! So in this workout I begin to introduce a bit of stretching throughout the strength training session. I hope you enjoy!
