If you were a kid of the 80’s, chances were you had at least one Care Bear or Strawberry Shortcake Doll. And guess what??

THEY’RE BACK!

That’s right! The childhood favorites, brought to you by American Greetings Properties, are back and ready to be loved by a whole new generation of kids. American Greetings Properties has truly shown that they can stand the test of time, as a 100 year old company, and bringing back these brand is going to be a great way for parents to connect with kids and share old memories as well as make new ones. In the past days, weeks, and months AGP has created a buzz for implementing fresh marketing tactics like crowd sourcing, digital apps, streaming video, social media channels and more to keep their beloved retro brands trendy and relevant.

Holiday Apps:

GG-BearThe Care Bears live in Care-a-Lot, a magical place where love, caring and sharing flourish. They are counting down to Christmas and need a lot of help to get their home ready. In the app, which begins on December 1, children can start the countdown by ‘unlocking’ activities like holiday-themed puzzles, videos, coloring pages and more, returning each day to unlock another activity to get them closer to December 25. Kids can color with Tenderheart Bear, do a puzzle with Share Bear, wrap a gift with Cheer Bear and much more. And just like the traditional advent calendars, on December 25, the app gives users a sweet surprise with a full-length Care Bears video episode. When not visiting the Care Bears each day, the app also provides activities for kids. Children can design hundreds of snowflakes and create their own white Christmas with the Care-a-Lot Snowflake maker, decorate the Care Bears Christmas tree with special ornaments found within the app and enjoy other wintry fun activities.

This is the first holiday-themed app from American Greetings, which owns the beloved, classic children’s brands Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake. The app is available now for download on iPad and can be found on iTunes for $2.99. There is also an app for PC and MAC desktops that can be found on the American Greetings website, www.americangreetings.com/care-bears-advent-calendar.

Streaming Video:

This week, Netflix announced is officially bringing back the Care Bears in a new series called “Care Bears and Cousins” saying the company is bringing back some nostalgic brands because they’re already trusted by parents.

Crowd Sourcing:

Earlier this month, AGP announced a fast moving, creative video campaign with the popular crow sourcing video platform,Tongal, with Two of the world’s most beloved brands, Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears.
For nearly 40 years, the popular brands have been there for millions of children through all their ups and downs. This contest is a chance to celebrate the enduring friendships the two brands have created with their adoring fans.
