Getting Nervous…
Author: Shannon Miller
I just got home from an incredible day at a huge international gymnastics competition, the AT&T Amercian Cup, that was being held in Jacksonville. I got to hang out with most of my 1996 teammates and see good friends. Just what the doctor ordered. :-)
It’s been a long week and I can tell that I’m really getting nervous about Monday. The first thing I did when I walked in the door was start baking cookies. It’s my go-to move when I’m stressing or nervous. I don’t even have to eat the cookies (although licking the bowl is a no-brainer) just the process of baking is therapeutic. Not cooking, mind you, it has to be the comforting process of baking chocolate chip cookies that I did as a child with my mom.
Tomorrow is preparation day. I have a speech at St. John the Divine tomorrow afternoon that I’m looking forward to and then I’m hitting the grocery store for bananas, raisin bran, Pepto, protein drinks and whatever else I throw on the list between now and then. I need to create a packing list for what to bring for my first 7 hours treatment. Maybe I’ll finally use my Kindle, and maybe even take a nap.
If you have any hints for things to add to my packing list, please let me know!
