Benefits of Flexibility Exercises
Author: Shannon Miller Lifestyle
Flexibility is defined as a measure of the range of motion around a joint.
Flexibility is important to perform daily activities with ease.
To bend over, pick up your kids, vacuum the carpet or even get out of bed, you need flexibility. As flexibility deteriorates with age, we often find it difficult to perform daily activities. We eventually create improper posture habits and body movements that often lead to reduced mobility of the joints.
Incorporating flexibility in your weekly workout routines will help prevent loss of mobility and will significantly reduce your chance of experiencing acute or chronic back pain as you age.
Major benefits of flexibility exercises include:
- Improves posture which in turn maximizes strength of all joint movements
- Reduced stress in exercising muscles
- Reduced risk of injury
- Improved performance in everyday activities
If you are having difficulty performing daily activities due to reduced flexibility, please contact the good people at In Motion Physical Therapy (904) 223-2363. They have years of experience helping people improve their flexibility and their lives.
