Are you ready for a new beginning?
What new beginning are you looking for? Many women, particularly now – right before bathing suit season, decide it’s time to lose some weight. If you want to make this a priority, it can be! It’s OK to make yourself a priority.
Check out these helpful hints that, taken together, is the perfect recipe for weight loss success!
- Attainable Goals. Start out by setting small goals, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or losing 1 – 2 pounds a week.
- Write it down. Use a food and exercise journal so you can track when/what/how much you eat, as well as your physical activity. Check out Shannon’s Food Journal & Exercise Log (or create your own), it provides a very easy way to get all of this information on paper.
- Get physical. Work physical activity into your schedule at least 2.5 hours/week. Remember, you don’t have to get all of your exercise in at one point in the day – Stretching and toning when you wake up in the morning, walk for 10 minutes at lunch, some Yoga poses to wind down before going to bed.
- What’s cookin’ good lookin‘? Maintain a healthy diet. Choose low fat or fat free versions of your favorite foods; reach for water or fat-free milk instead of soda or other sugary drinks; when eating out, ask for sauces and dressings on the side. A few changes can make a big difference!
