ECHN’s 16th Annual Cancer Survivors Day – A Celebration of Life

Author: ADMIN

Cancer survivors, their families, friends, and caregivers who have supported their fight are invited to join ECHN for an afternoon of inspiration and hope. Our keynote speaker for this year’s event will be Shannon Miller. Shannon Miller is one of the most decorated Olympic Gymnasts in history with 7 Olympic medals. She is also the only female athlete to be inducted into the US Olympic Hall of Fame twice (individual 2006 and team 2008)! In January 2011, Shannon was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer.

Shannon will share her own cancer journey and how she used lessons learned through her Olympic training to forge ahead in the midst of the most challenging obstacles. She speaks about the importance of caregivers and the incredible role they play. Through her story,  attendees will learn how important it is to set goals and maintain a positive attitude, the importance of early detection and why “making your health a priority” is a lesson for all of us. She is currently cancer-free and is a strong advocate for early detection, awareness, research and survivorship.

This free event will also feature a buffet brunch and giveaways. Pre-registration is required. Learn more at https://www.echn.org/events/1421
