Horton visits Jacksonville to promote AT&T American Cup
2010 World all-around bronze medalist Jonathan Horton visited three gymnastics clubs and Shannon Miller Lifestyle Radio in Jacksonville, Florida, to promote the 2011 AT&T American Cup, an International Gymnastics Federation World Cup event. Horton is one of two U.S. gymnasts competing in the international invitational on March 5 at Jacksonville, Florida’s Veterans Memorial Arena. Horton and Alexandra Raisman of Needham, Massachusetts, will face a strong international field that includes top gymnasts from the 2010 World Championships. Horton, the 2008 Olympic horizontal bar silver medalist, met with young gymnasts and signed autographs at Gyminators Gymnastics, Starlight Gymnastics and TNT Gymnastics. He met with media on the morning of Feb. 9, before heading back to Houston to continue training.

The 2011 AT&T American Cup, the United States’ most prestigious all-around international invitational, is a part of the International Gymnastics Federation’s all-around World Cup series. This is just the second time in the event’s history that it has had World Cup status and the first as an all-around event. The event will feature some of the world’s top gymnasts in an all-around format. Jacksonville’s Shannon Miller, the USA’s most decorated gymnast and a member of the Magnificent Seven (the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team that won the team gold medal in Atlanta), is the event’s honorary chairman. The Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup, which features 36 of the country’s rising young gymnasts, will be staged on March 4 at 7 p.m. A minimum of two gymnasts from each of the 17 invitationals in the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup Series advances to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup. Proceeds from the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup benefit the Nastia Liukin Fund, which is part of the National Gymnastics Foundation.
