Los Angeles, CA  – The National  Obesity Foundation™ (NOF) is proud to announce a partnership with Shannon Miller, the most decorated gymnast in American history, as its celebrity spokesperson to promote health and wellness advocacy, particularly among populations with high obesity rates.

Shannon Miller, in partnership with her company, Shannon Miller Lifestyle, will provide promotional and endorsement services to NOF.

The National Obesity Foundation (NOF), based in Los Angeles, California,  is a tax-exempt nonprofit created in 2012 to help those affected by or at risk for obesity and their loved ones through  education, access to online and physical resources, community support programs, patient advocacy and improved access to medical treatment.

“Obesity and the devastating effects the disease has created in the United States dictates that we must create resources and come together to battler this leading cause of preventable death in the United States,” said Dr. Isaac Verbukh, the founding member and president of the Board of Directors of NOF.

Dr. Verbukh further stated that the main purpose of NOF is to fight this disease and Shannon Miller’s commitment to health, the wellbeing of women, her first-hand knowledge of fitness and approaches to a healthy lifestyle and her commitment to fighting childhood obesity will further NOF’s mission.

“The National Obesity Foundation’s commitment to creating a roadmap for quality healthcare and wellness choices and giving back to those who give through the NOF’s Humanitarian Award are strong institutional and long-term commitment which I am truly excited to support,”  commented Shannon Miller. “Their mission compliments my work with childhood obesity and women’s health along with my vision for a healthier future for us all.”

Shannon Miller has won seven Olympic medals (two Gold, two Silver, and three Bronze) and nine World Championship medals. She is the only American to rank among the top ten all-time gymnasts and is the only female athlete to be inducted into the United States Olympic Hall of Fame twice (individual 2006 and team 2008).
