New finds in Mommy facial skin care!

Novena
Novena is a line of safe maternal skin care made with organic ingredients, vegan formulations and is free of sulfates, parabens and phthalates. I tried three out of the eight products offered for over a week and simply put, AMAZING! One of my favorite features about this line is how a little goes a long way for ALL the products. With 1-2 uses a day I feel I wouldn’t run out for a while and this is great for all you moms or mom’s to be when all your money is going to the little ones these days!
Organic Fruit Face Wash: My skin has always been unbalanced and considered “combination,” but this face wash balanced my skin and left my face feeling so clean and touchably soft. It dissolved my makeup effortlessly and I didn’t need to use toner after to take off any residue that may have been left behind. It didn’t take off all of my eyeliner, but that’s tough stuff to get off anyway. It foams up nicely so you can really feel and see it cleaning. The smell is also great. It’s fruity in a natural way, not overly scented where you know unnecessary ingredients have been added just for smell. It’s not too strong which is great for those in their 1st trimester where anything and everything can cause a fit of vomiting. My skin has looked and felt so great I recently, accidentally left the house without wearing foundation and didn’t even realize until a while later (and it wasn’t a case of pregnancy forgetfulness)!
Organic Bearberry Skin Brightening Moisturizer:
I like this product because it works with oily/combination skin and dries so fast I easily wore it under my makeup. However, I am in my fifth month and have yet to get the brown spots caused by pregnancy, so I can’t say if it helps get rid of those pigmented spots, but maybe it has helped prevent them from even appearing??
Organic Citrus Blemish Lotion:
I’ve always had trouble with breakouts especially in the summer when it’s hot and my skin is sticky. However, since I’ve been pregnant it’s as if my face has shot back to when I was sixteen years old. For you women who are immune to pimples naturally or because of your pregnancy I am very envious of you! This blemish lotion has saved me! I use it before bed and in the morning my pimples have significantly shrunk or completely disappeared! My skin hasn’t looked this even and blemish free for months and it’s such a relief to know it’s safe for my little baby too. This was a very lightweight and very fast drying lotion. I would barely pump any out and I could easily cover my whole face, so I can only imagine how long it would last if used just as spot treatment. I only used it at night, but it’s so light that it doesn’t leave your face feeling tight and you could wear it under makeup without causing that caked-on look you can from using other lotions under foundation. Even though I’m breakout free I still use it every night to prevent future blemishes from even thinking about popping up!
Women who are thinking about getting pregnant, who are pregnant or already have kids should try any of the versatile products from this line, it can give you skin care peace of mind!

Discovering Alguronic Acid
I know while reading this, some of you may think that I’m an unsuitable candidate for anti-aging because I’m only 23, but hey I want to stay looking young as age and my child wears on me. Plus the eye renewal cream is my Heaven sent for the dark circles under my eyes! Just for the record, this stuff is a-ma-zing! Algenist discovered this acid, alguronic acid, that works miracles on skin. The products are all hyper-allergenic, recyclable and compatible with all skin types. So no excuses as to why you can’t try it, Moms!
Concentrated Reconstructing Serum
According to Algenist, this product rebuilds skin firmness, restores skin density and elasticity, boosts skin radiance, minimizes deep wrinkles, and tightens and lifts the skin.
Okay so I don’t have any deep wrinkles so I can not attest to that one but my skin definitely firmed up and I don’t know if it was just me but my face looked more radiant after 2 weeks!
Regenerative Anti-Aging Moisturizer SPF 20
This product restores skin moisture, rebuilds firmness and elasticity, minimizes fine lines and wrinkles, regenerates the skin, and protects against UVA/UVB exposure.
For me, this product sold me with the SPF 20. I’m of Irish descent and when I go into the sun for longer than the walk to my car, I burn. Proper SPF is my friend and I never leave home without some. I love any beauty products that have it already. Plus it makes a great base for make-up in the morning, and after 2 weeks I definitely noticed that my skin wasn’t drying out like it used to, for which I am super happy!
Complete Eye Renewal Balm
This wonderful little bottle packs a definite punch! It repairs signs of aging and fatigue, decreases puffiness and dark circles, tightens and firms skin around the eyes, and minimizes eye wrinkles.
Do not, I repeat, do not get this stuff too close to your eyes. It will get in your eyes and your eyes will burn and water. Happened to me the first couple of times I put it on. Other than that I have to say this was my absolute favorite. A little definitely goes a long way and it helped to reduce a lot of the puffiness and dark circles I’ve always had to layer make-up over. It is my hero!
Regenerative Anti-Aging Lotion
This lotion hydrates and nourishes leaving skin healthy and regenerated, minimizes lines and wrinkles, and increases skin brightness.
Two squirts is all you really need. It’s a great cream base that is perfect going beneath make-up and while it doesn’t have SPF it definitely works! After 2 weeks I noticed my skin looked less drab and much more healthy and refreshed. It’s a wonderful product that helps any woman feel amazing!
Targeted Age Correcting Serum
This serum will give your face a noticeable boost. It corrects and resurfaces skin, diminishes dark spots and age spots, evens skin tone, and increases skin brightness.
My one and only problem with this serum is that its oily. After it dries it’s not so bad but oily products just drive me bonkers. With that being said this product will jump start your face to looking amazing in 2 weeks, especially when combined with Algenist’s other products. I could tell after a few days that my skin was different in a very good way!
Overnight Restorative Cream
This cream deeply nourishes and regenerates skin cells, repairs and renews skin overnight, and restores skin density for stronger, more radiant skin.
This cream is wonderful. My skin felt wonderful every morning and I went to bed knowing that it was doing its job. For me this product was my definite second favorite and I will be buying it again in the future. For any woman with a nightly skin care regimen, this product is a must have!
And the verdict is…
For me, a busy mom, this regime was awesome. Although I don’t think I could continuously keep up with it, it definitely did what it claimed to do: make me look younger (I know; 23 – not hard). It was a great experience and as I age, I will be on the lookout for more products from Algenist featuring the alguronic acid because, as the saying goes, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it! And this formula is most certainly working for them.
